Papa Omisore’s has released his spring/summer 2017 collection for his clothing brand P.O.C, and has named it ‘essentials’.
According to him, he ‘upped his creative ante by delivering entirely new designs, while maintaining his brand’s fluid and laidback appeal, and what resulted is the vibrant and colorful ‘Essentials’ collection’.
Does his phrase relate? His line up of ubiquitous tunics and wide leg pants hardly comes across as new. His work echoes the aesthetics of another Nigerian brand, Sisiano. That’s not to say the clothes aren’t at least, well made.
His attempt on art was made possible via the creative direction and photography by the brilliant Lakin Ogunbanwo.
To grow, he needs to push himself more, and not rely on unimportant back stories for an ‘essentials’ collection which are actually, quite frankly, basics.
