In the buildup to the national convention of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, holding today, Saturday, the party accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of fueling crisis within the party, an allegation the APC has now denied.
The PDP had claimed APC wants to ensure the national convention doesn’t hold so that the opposition party doesn’t attain the level of stability enough to threaten its continuous hold on power.
Responding to this allegation, political Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, who spoke in Lagos on Friday, said the PDP was addicted to crisis, advising the leaders of the opposition party to face their internal squabbles squarely.
He chided the brains behind the speculation, saying that they are guilty of wrongful attribution.
He said the APC has no hand in the crisis of zoning to the larger South and micro-zoning to the Southwest because it is not its business.
Ojudu added: “It is a big lie. What is the business of the APC in their convention or who becomes their chairman?
“The allegation is false; a figment of imagination. APC is not fueling any crisis in the PDP.”
