A former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, received a major boost in his bid to become the National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, earlier in the week as the party in the state endorsed him as their choice.
PDP’s next National Chairman will be decided on Saturday at the party’s national convention.
The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, announced the endorsement and adoption after a show of hand vote, during a meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Molete, Ibadan, earlier in the week.
But another aspirant, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, said the endorsement carries no weight because he had also been endorsed by the same State Executive nine months ago.
To him, the endorsement was a mere recognition of aspirants’ move to contest the election.
