France international, Paul Pogba of Juventus who is currently one of the most sought-after players in Europe has thrown his weight behind Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Ballon d’Or.
Speaking to Mexican journalists in excellent Spanish at the Espy awards, Pogba admitted that Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were on the same level, but after a trophy-laden season which included the Euro championship, this year is Ronaldo’s year.
He stated that if he had his way, he would hand the Ballon d’Or to Cristiano right now.
“They should give the Ballon d’Or to Cristiano Ronaldo right now. He won the Champions League and Euro 2016.”
Ronaldo’s Portugal won the Euro championship on Sunday, beating Pogba’s France 1-0 in the final.
