With the political scene in Spain seeing Catalunya seeking independence from Spain, one news source has come up with a stunning suggestion.
According to Catalan Sports Minister, if the independence were to happen, Barcelona would stun the world of European football.
If Catalunya does, one day, get the independence it craves, it has been suggested that Barcelona would not be able to participate in La Liga, leaving the most famous club in the world isolated.
However, the Catalan Sports Minister is of the belief that Barcelona could play in the English Premier League.
The foundations for such a statement are based on the fact that Monaco play in the French League whilst there are a host of Welsh clubs playing in the English Leagues.
Whilst the idea might carry the faintest hint of logic, it does all seem a bit far-fetched and, in some opinion, very unlikely to happen.
