President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria today arrived in China on an official visit to conclude discussions and gain support of the Chinese government in the development of infrastructures and diversification of the Nigerian economy.

He was welcomed by China’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Cheng, alongside other Senior Chinese Government Officials at the Beijing Capital International Airport.

Also present in China as part of the President’s delegation is the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom, Oyo state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Ogun state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun and Yobe state Governor, Ibrahim Geidam, the Minister of Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, Minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu and Minister of Defence, Dan Monsur Ali.

President Buhari’s agenda during the visit includes visits the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and the Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. Buhari will also open the China-Nigeria Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation Forum in Beijing tomorrow, Tuesday the 12th of April, 2016.
