In a very ballsy move, the Proenza Schouler boys, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez will be showing their resort collection during the Paris Haute Couture shows. The show will be backed by MAC cosmetics and will be shown in a private, no-images-allowed salon appointment on America’s Independence Day, July 4.
The decision to show in Paris also reflects the label’s global intentions, underscored earlier in June with the appointment of a new chief executive, Judd Crane, who is joining the company from London-based department store Selfridges.
Should we expect couture, seeing as their brand of luxurious experimentation is one of the most copied in the world? The collection will be shown the same day the Couture collections of the house of Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli will be made public.
