As the 30-day Ramadan fasting by Muslim faithful begins on Monday, Senate President, Bukola Saraki has enjoined adherents to use the period to recalibrate and pray for security, peace, and God’s intervention on the problems confronting the nation.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki expressed gratitude to God for the privilege to participate in this holy obligation as commanded by the Holy Quran.
He requested that Muslim faithful rededicate themselves to the true ideals of Islam as a religion of peace and serve humanity in worship to God. He also advised Muslims to utilise Allah’s grace for the season.
Saraki further urged all Nigerians not to surrender to despair but to remain staunch in the view that with courage, determination, focus and collective efforts, the country would eventually overcome its present toils and become prosperous and peaceful.
