An unnamed Greek athlete has been expelled from the Rio Olympic Games after failing a drugs test.
The athlete’s “A’’ sample tested positive for a banned substance in early July.
Reports from Rio indicate that neither the athlete’s name nor the sport he competes in will be revealed until his “B’’ sample has been analysed.
The only fact available is that the athlete belongs to the Hellenic Olympic Committee, which has taken 97 athletes to the Games.
The athlete left the Olympic village hours before the opening and is the second to be sent home after an Irish boxer failed a drugs test on Thursday
