The La Liga season starts on Saturday and Real Madrid will have to get started without their biggest star, Cristiano Ronaldo, when they take on Real Sociedad away from home on Sunday.

Ronaldo is currently struggling for fitness having been sidelined with injury since July 10 when he sustained a knee injury in Portugal’s final win against France at the Euro 2016 championship.

Having already missed Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup win over Sevilla in Norway, Ronaldo will now have to wait till August 27 to play his first match this season when Madrid take on Celta Vigo.

Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane has more than Ronaldo’s injury to worry about ahead of the new season and the visit to Sociedad.

Star striker, Karim Benzema is also injured and will also miss the visit. With two parts of the dreaded BBC (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano) strike force missing, Bale will have to lead Madrid’s attack alone.

The pressure will sure be on the Welshman who will hope he can drive Madrid to success just as he did Wales at the Euro 2016 championship.

Alvaro Morata who returned to Madrid from Juventus at the summer will also be looking to impress his new coach as he hopes to replicate his form at Juventus which saw him lead the line for the Serie A giant against Barcelona in the 2015 Champions League final.
