Real Madrid have been on the trail of Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois and Manchester United shop-stopper, David de Gea, for a while now, but star-man, Cristiano Ronaldo, has suggested that the La Liga Champions drop their interest in the two Premier League goalkeepers for a La Liga alternative in the same position.
The Ballon d’Or hopeful suggested that Madrid moves for German international, Andre Ter Stegen, who happens to be Barcelona’s No.1 this year.
Ernesto Valverde favours Ter Stegen to former Ajax star, Jasper Cillessen, at the Nou Camp.
And according to Spanish transfer outlet, Don Balon, Real talisman, Ronaldo, wants Ter Stegen, 25, at the Bernabeu.
They say the Portugal international is a huge admirer of the German stopper.
Real president Florentino Perez has been trying to replace Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu for a couple of years.
Perez is determined to sign a new goalkeeper next summer and finally axe Navas.
Real are back in action on Saturday when Zinedine Zidane’s men travel to Getafe.
A win could send the Spanish giants up to second in the La Liga table and close the gap on arch-rivals Barcelona.
