2016 is the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. British Council Lagos says as a part of the world celebrating Shakespeare at this time, they want to share in the celebrations by honoring Shakespeare’s legacy of storytelling. “As one of the last plays attributed to Shakespeare (and Fletcher) is The Two noble Kinsman, an adaptation of The Knight’s tale, the first part in Canterbury Tales, it seemed appropriate to combine a knight’s quest with the idea of a traveller’s pilgrimage in search for Nigerian bards and their stories.”

Segun Adefila and Jan-willem van den Bosch, propose to guide a travelling theatre troupe that bring these stories, from within the rich and varying cultures of Nigeria, to life through Love at War a feat of drama, music and dance. Performances are free to attend and will take place in Abuja and Lagos.
