Tajikistan government announced on Monday that henceforth, reporters who publish difficult words for readers would pay fines of up to 100 dollars (aboutN37,600), a report has said.
Similarly, the media houses with such publications would pay fines ranging from 150 dollars to 200 dollars.
“There are instances of some journalists using up to 10 words that are not understandable to a regular reader, viewer or listener in their content in a single day.
“By doing so, they are grossly violating the norms of official language.
“There are rules of writing.
“There are requirements for observing the norms of official language that we are all obliged to follow,’’ Gavkhar Sharifzoda, Head of the Central Asian nation’s terminology committee, reportedly told a news conference.
