After a long wait, the season 3 of CW’s The Flash series started airing on CW Television Network at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Flash’s season 3 premiere, “Flashpoint?” revealed that there will be consequences from Barry’s time travel and it may likely reverberate throughout the season.
Speaking about the new season, Iris (Candice Patton) said “we (The Flash’s casts) are all just trying to deal with the repercussions of Barry changing the timeline”.
Patton who many followers hope will end up dating Barry at some point in the series further revealed that “Iris and Barry work on their relationship throughout this season, which is really nice.
“I won’t give too many details about what that looks like but they’re still very much a part of each other’s life. But things are different with Flashpoint!”
Different? Hopefully things are different enough for the two of them to admit their feelings and put aside whatever it is that has kept them apart all series.
Seeing the dire consequences of time travel to change the timeline, Barry went back in time (again) and allowed Reverse Flash to kill his mother, in the hope that he would set things right by leaving the past be.
Even though things went back to pseudo-normal, the timeline remained messed up and it looks like things will never be exactly the same as they were before.
I hope this doesn’t turn out to be a spoiler; The Flash’s season 3 will feature “not one but two big bads”, this was revealed by the series’ executive producers, Aaron and Todd Helbing over the summer.
