The Naked Convos (TNC) is an interactive community designed to create safe spaces where young Africans engage in OPEN and HONEST conversations. The platform is the brain behind The Writer Competition (TWC), an online “reality” writing competition for young creative writers in Africa, submissions for which were received in March this year.
Following over 3,000 entries, a list of twelve finalists were announced today;
Fareeda Alithnayn Abdulkareem
Akpan-Nya, Alexandra Emem
Ifeanyichukwu Abiodun Ibegbu
Ekari Valerie Mbvundula
The Judges were also announced; Lauri Kubuitsile (Botswana), Tendai Huchu (Zimbabwe) and our very own Titi Oyinsan (Nigeria).
The Competition will begin on the 9th of May and will run for four weeks. The finalists will write stories that the judges and the general public will vote on and each week, writers will be eliminated until only one winner emerges, to become “The Writer 2016”
The winner will walk away with N200,000 while the two runners up will receive N150,000 and N100,00 respectively, plus an opportunity to be published in an anthology put together by The Naked Convos. The competition can be followed online via the website; thewriter.thenakedconvos.com
