Unidentified gunmen have killed two persons at Fadan Karshi community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria. The deceased has been reported to be the traditional ruler of the community, Bala Madaki, and his nephew, Emmanuel Tanko.
The incident was confirmed to have happened on Monday by the spokesman for Kaduna State Police Command, Zubairu Abubakar. An eyewitness reported to Channels TV correspondents that the gunmen invaded the deceased’s house at about 10:00PM on Sunday, killing them in their home.
The attack has led to a rouse in the community, as most residents have remained indoors while shops and markets have been closed. The police officers have been deployed to the area of attack to maintain peace and order.
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, rebuked the attack, in a statement he announced through his spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, as he sympathized with the family of the victims. Governor El-Rufai implored the people of Sanga Local Government to remain calm and work with authority – by supporting the security agencies to investigate the attack and arrest the perpetrators of the attack.
