Nigerian U-23 international, Aminu Umar on Thursday scored his fourth UEFA Europa League goal of the season for Osmanlispor in his team’s 2 – 0 victory over Steaua Bucuresti.

Umar who was part of the Bronze winning Dream Team VI at the Rio Olympics sealed his side’s win in the 74th minute when he scored with a left footed shot placed to the bottom left corner from the centre of the box.

Umar’s goal came 10 minutes after Cheick Diabate opened scoring for the hosts from the penalty spot.

In Rotterdam, Manchester United made a laboured start to their Europa League campaign as they were beaten 1 – 0 by Feyenoord.

Tonny Vilhena scored the decisive goal for the Eredivisie side in the 79th minute from Nicolai Jorgensen’s cut-back cross. The cross fell to the 21-year-old midfielder who was free in the box and he made no mistake hitting the back of United’s net.

Vilhena’s goal sent Mourinho’s team to their second defeat in just five days – their second defeat this season. This defeat also takes United’s winless run in Europe to three. They last won against FC Midtjylland.

In the other game in Group A, Ukrainian debutants Zorya were only denied a landmark first win by Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer whose added time equalizer ensure the game ended 1 – 1.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan also found it tough as they fell 0 – 2 to Hapoel Be’er Sheva at the San Siro in Group K.

Nigerian pair of John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme both starred for Hapeol Be’er Sheva in the surprise win for the Israelites.

Miguel Vitor’s 54th minute strike and Maor Bar Buzaglo’s 69th minute free kick ensured Frank De Boer has won just one of his opening four fixtures in charge of the Nerazzurri.

Southampton defeated Sparta Prague 3 – 0 to go top of Group K. The saints won with two first-half goals from Charlie Austin and a Jay Rodriguez strike in added time to earn Claude Puel his first victory as manager of the club.

AS Roma of Italy were held to a 1 – 1 draw at Viktoria Plzen in Group E. The visitors took the lead after just four minutes when Ales Mateju fouled Stephan El Shaarawy in the box and Diego Perotti converted the penalty, but Marek Bakos equalized for the Czech side seven minutes later.

Also in Group E, Austria Vienna earned a 3 – 2 win at Astra Giurgiu thanks to an early Raphael Holzhauser penalty, Kevin Friesenbichler’s goal and Alexander Grunwald’s free kick.
