Computer-animated 3D comedy-drama adventure movie, Finding Dory, became 2016’s highest grossing movie after it hit 1 billion dollars at the global box office last weekend .
The movie which featured American TV host, Ellen DeGeneres as the voice of the main character, Dory, was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney on June 8.
Aside Ellen DeGeneres, the movie also featured the voices of stars like Idris Elba, Albert Brooks, Ty Burrell, Diane Keaton.
Finding Dory hitting 1 billion dollars has now given Walt Disney its third billion-dollar movie in 2016. Disney’s own The Jungle Book is just right behind Finding Dory. What a year it’s been for Walt Disney.
The movie is about a fish “Dory” in search of her parents after they got separated. With the help of a reluctant, cranky octopus, Nemo (a fish) and his father Marlin, Dory went on the adventurous search depicted in the movie.
Finding Dory is not the only one having a good year, Ellen DeGeneres is too. She’s also had a good year, seeing herself become one of the highest paid TV stars of 2016.
