Renowned World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE, professional wrestler, Chavo Guerrero Sr., known by his ring nickname, ‘Chavo Classic’, has died after a short battle with liver cancer.
A member of the Guerrero wrestling dynasty, he was the oldest son of Salvador ‘Gory’ Guerrero, brothers to wrestlers Mando, Eddie, and Hector, and father of Chavo Guerrero Jr.
Tributes have begun to pour in for the late WWE athlete, aged 68, who wowed crowds for decades and is survived by his championship victories – and his family’s legacy.
Guerrero Sr. once said: “We never wanted to be Superman or Batman or the Lone Ranger in my era, we wanted to be wrestlers,” the Toronto Sun reported.
His son and fellow wrestler, Chavo Guerrero Jr., posted a tribute to his late father on Instagram.
