Though the ‘X Men: Apocalypse’  is enjoying massive views at the cinema, it has recently come under heavy criticism for promoting women violence on its poster.

Many critics have been voicing their displeasure with the choice of picture for the movie poster.

The bone of contention is the striking promotional images of Oscar Isaac’s character, Apocalypse choking Mystique, played by Jennifer Lawrence.

Critics have spoken up about what they perceive to be a casual depiction of violence against women.

‘Charmed’ actress, Rose McGowan is leading the charge, giving a statement of her concern to the Hollywood Reporter.

Though the topic of whether or not the poster supports violence against against women is garnering support, what it has not done so far is affect the success of the movie.
