Just when you think 2016 can do no worse than it already has, it throws a curve ball strikes from the left and sends the world hurtling through space and time in confusion.

On Christmas day, George Michael had his “last Christmas”, sending fans reeling and reminiscing over the singer/songwriter’s prolific career and wonderful lyrics.

Then two days later, another celebrity from the classic Hollywood age took her final bow. Carrie Fisher died early Tuesday morning after having a heart attack a few days before on a flight to Los Angeles from London.

Carrie Fisher is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise. A role she first played over three decades ago and reprised with the return of the 2015 installment; Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

But while Star Wars was one of her earliest and perhaps biggest movie roles by far, Fisher also appeared in several movies which in turn endeared her to her many fans and admirers, some of which include; The Blues Brothers, When Harry Met Sally, Scream 3, among others.

Carrie Fisher was aged 60 at the time of her death. She is survived by her mother, Debbie Reynolds; her brother, Todd; her daughter, Billie Lourd, and her half sisters from her father’s side, Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.
