I know that the question that strikes your mind after reading the above headline is how do your words create your world? Well, think about it. But firstly, it behoves on you the type of life you want to create for yourself. Be it positive or negative.
Our words are charged with energy; they dictate how we feel, we use them to communicate to both ourselves and the universe what we believe to be true. Essentially, it is with our words that we choose the reality we live in.
Little wonder that a writer warns thus:
“Be mindful of your thought, it becomes your words. Be mindful of your words, it becomes your actions. Be mindful of your actions, it becomes your character.”
The combination of the above forms your world. It therefore implies that You Think Positive. If you think negative it turns to your words and becomes your world.
Empowering stuff eh? Slightly worrying, if you’re saying all the wrong things, but for me, it is not empowering, it is VERY empowering. This is where AFFIRMATION (Positive) and NEGATIVITY steps in!
Our words have a whopping impact on how we feel; we use our words to communicate to ourselves and to others (most importantly – the universe) what we believe to be true.
This is critical because, as you know, what we give the majority of our attention to, we attract into our lives.
Take these familiar few examples of what people tell themselves:
‘I can’t do it’
‘It will never work’
‘I’m going to fail.’
‘That’s too expensive’
Are you beginning to see and understand the problem? The problem of negative words (negativity).
However, Affirmations are brilliant because they get you to use your words in the most positive manner possible – to help you begin attracting a life you love.
So, if negative words are what you’ve CREATED YOUR WORLD with, there’s still time for you to CHANGE YOUR WORLD with positive ones.
Think of affirmations as a seed that you plant in your mind. Water it over a long enough period and, very soon, what began as just a repeated positive statement blossoms into a stunning reality.
Affirmations are a big part of my life. For me, they prove most useful whenever a negative thought creeps into my mind and I need to switch my focus, quick-style!
Here are some examples…
‘I’m short’ becomes ‘I love myself.’
‘I’m fat’ (it happens) becomes ‘I have perfect control of my weight’
‘I’m stupid’ becomes ‘I’m the totality of myself.’
‘I can’t do it’ becomes ‘I’m capable and deserving.’
‘It will never work’ becomes ‘It is feasible and possible.’
‘I’m going to fail’ becomes ‘I can have, do, or be anything I choose’
‘That’s too expensive’ becomes ‘The universe provides everything I need’
