Former “One Direction” member, Zayn Malik, who last year, officially separated from the group he made popular alongside five other members is ready to delve into yet another uncharted waters — writing.
The 23-year-old singer is getting into the book business with his first book, titled ‘Zayn’, slated for release later this year on the November 1.
Publisher of the book, Penguin Random House, described the book as an “autobiography” in a press release.
In a statement from Zayn Malik himself, he said: “I’m going to show you as much as I can so that you can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says.”
The book, Zayn, is said to be a “photo journey” featuring a collection of personal notes, thoughts, lyrics, drawings, and never-before-seen photos.
Malik is taking on quite a lot of projects at this time.
The news of the new book is coming one week after it was announced he would be the executive producer of “Boys”, a new drama series with Dick Wolf and Universal Television that centers on the ups and downs of a wildly successful boy band.
The new drama series has earned him quite some criticisms from different quarters; many believe he has no moral justification to be involved in the production since the series will be depicting stories from “One Direction” where he already quit.
One notable critic is former One Direction mentor Simon Cowell who hinted his dissatisfaction with Malik’s move last week when he told celebrity news platform, “Entertainment Tonight” that “I think he should have come to me with it, if I’m being honest with you.”
